Waste trolleys: how to choose the right solution

Waste trolleys make it convenient to collect and move cardboard, film, packaging and other waste between workstations, warehouses and waste handling areas. They are useful in retail, logistics, manufacturing, hotels and other sites where waste must regularly be moved by hand.

STRAPAS offers waste transport trolleys and other waste management equipment. The right model depends on waste types, volumes, the working environment and transport distance.

When is a waste trolley useful?

  • when waste is generated at several workstations;
  • when cardboard or film needs to be moved to a baler;
  • when you want to reduce manual carrying of bags and loose waste;
  • when different waste streams need orderly separation;
  • when waste must move along corridors, through warehouses or between departments.

What should you consider when choosing?

Key criteria are capacity, structural strength, castor type, manoeuvrability and waste weight. Lightweight cardboard or film often needs more volume, while heavier waste needs a stronger frame and castors.

Check whether the trolley fits through doors, lifts and warehouse aisles, and whether staff can push it comfortably when fully loaded.

A trolley as part of the baling process

A waste trolley is often used alongside cardboard and waste balers. Waste is collected where it is generated, moved to the baler and compacted there, reducing unnecessary accumulation in working areas.

If a baler has not yet been chosen, assess the full waste route first: where it arises, who collects it, where it is baled and how bales are removed.

How to choose

Before requesting a quotation, provide approximate volumes, waste types, workplace conditions and preferred trolley capacity. This identifies a practical option rather than choosing by size alone.
