WHEN BIGBELLY MAKES THE MOST SENSE

Where does Bigbelly deliver the most value?

Where bins overflow between collections, staff travel to check half-empty bins, or scattered locations are difficult to maintain. A simpler model may be sufficient in locations with low waste volumes.

01

Overflowing bins

Conventional bins fill up quickly in busy locations.

02

Too many collections

The team follows a fixed schedule instead of actual collection needs.

03

No data

It is difficult to see which locations cause the most problems.

04

Cleanliness and oversight

In public spaces, collection matters just as much as a tidy, clean appearance.

THE BIGBELLY PRODUCT FAMILY

The Bigbelly range

From simpler enclosed stations to smart, CLEAN™-connected solutions with compaction. Each configuration is selected to match local waste volumes and servicing arrangements.

BASE STATION

Element

No compaction or CLEAN™. An enclosed 178 l bin. For locations where a tidy waste collection point is the main priority.

FILL-LEVEL INDICATION

Sense

No compaction or CLEAN™. A 178 l bin with local LED fill-level indication. For teams working nearby.

INDICATION + COMPACTION

Sense Max

Compaction + local indication. For locations that need greater waste capacity without remote monitoring.

CLEAN™ CONNECTED

Smart

CLEAN™ without compaction. A 178 l bin with remote fill-level and status monitoring.

CLEAN™ + COMPACTION

Smart Max

Compaction + CLEAN™. For busy locations you want to monitor and service when needed.

Which model should you choose?

We assess waste volumes, collection frequency and the distance to the stations. Different models can be combined within one project.

CLEAN™ MANAGEMENT PLATFORM

How do Smart and Smart Max work?

1. Waste enters an enclosed bin. Smart Max also compacts it; Smart does not.

2. Sensors monitor the fill level. Data is sent to the CLEAN™ management platform.

3. The team sees when collection is needed. Notifications and historical data help plan servicing.

What you see in the system

Fill levels, collection alerts, station locations on a map, collection history and technical status — in a browser and mobile app.

APPLICATIONS

One approach, different public spaces

The configuration is selected to suit footfall, waste volumes, the servicing team and the appearance of each location.

CITIES

Municipalities and central streets

Busy pedestrian areas where cleanliness, overflow prevention and more efficient route planning matter.

PARKS

Parks and recreation areas

The enclosed design helps contain waste, reduce litter dispersal and keep the surroundings tidy.

TRANSPORT

Stations and transport hubs

Locations with fluctuating traffic, where knowing the actual fill level helps teams service only the bins that need it.

BUSINESS

Shopping centres and campuses

Sites where visitor experience, waste separation and centralised oversight of multiple stations matter.

What Bigbelly can change in practice

Smart Max compaction allows more waste to be stored. The manufacturer's stated capacity of approximately 570 l refers to the equivalent volume of uncompacted waste; the physical inner bin holds 120 l. Results depend on waste composition. This does not guarantee a fivefold reduction in collections at every location.

01

Fewer overflows

Bins are monitored according to their actual status, not just a fixed schedule.

02

Fewer unnecessary trips

Collection priorities are based on actual fill levels.

03

Cleaner surroundings

The enclosed design helps keep waste inside the bin.

04

Data for better decisions

See which locations generate the most waste and how volumes change.

WHY STRAPAS

From site assessment to operation

STRAPAS is the official Bigbelly representative in Lithuania. We agree the project scope, installation and servicing terms before an order is placed.

01

Assessing your situation

We assess the number of locations, waste volumes, current collection frequency and problem areas.

02

Selecting the configuration

We identify where a simpler solution is sufficient and where Smart Max with compaction makes sense.

03

Installation and commissioning

We agree the location, anchoring, access for emptying and staff introduction to operating the equipment.

04

Maintenance and servicing

Contact STRAPAS for maintenance, faults and spare parts. The scope of work and response times are specified in the quotation.

What does it cost, and when does it pay back?

The price depends on the model, number of stations, recycling modules, graphics, installation and selected service package. Our quotation separates one-off costs from recurring platform, connectivity and maintenance fees, where applicable.

We assess payback using your data: current collection numbers, working time, transport costs and overflow frequency. We compare potential savings with the total operating costs of the system.

A pilot area can be discussed. Its scope, duration and commercial terms are agreed individually. Before the trial, it is worth recording the baseline, then comparing collection frequency, working time and cleanliness.

Frequently asked questions

Smart Max can use a solar panel and battery outdoors, with an AC adapter available for indoor use. Data is transmitted via integrated telecommunications connectivity. Before installation, we check site conditions and network coverage; the power supply is selected according to the model.

The manufacturer designs Smart Max for outdoor use, including cloudy and shaded locations. For each site, we assess lighting, surrounding buildings, seasonal use and snow removal from the solar panel. Winter operating conditions are agreed in line with the selected model's documentation.

Modules are selected according to the waste streams and the waste contractor's requirements. Separate recycling modules can be combined in one station. Not every waste stream needs compaction; we check suitability for specific materials when selecting the model.

A staff member opens the service door and empties the inner bin according to the instructions for the selected configuration. The manufacturer also offers wheeled inner-bin options. Before ordering, we agree the removal method and its suitability for your team.

No. Visitors separate their waste into the labelled modules themselves. Clear labels, colours and suitable openings help them choose the correct waste stream.

The Smart Max deposit mechanism separates users from the compaction area, and the service door has a safety interlock. The manufacturer also offers pedal opening. Operation and maintenance must follow the instructions for the specific model.

Yes. Compaction and fill-level monitoring do not replace cleaning: the deposit opening, inner bin and solar panel need attention. Inspections follow the manufacturer's instructions. Contact STRAPAS for technical servicing and spare parts.

The manufacturer's Smart Max datasheet specifies approximate dimensions of 1264 × 635 × 681 mm (height × width × depth). Additional space is needed to open the doors, empty the bin and provide convenient access. The base and anchoring are agreed according to the site and configuration.

Yes, the manufacturer offers custom graphics and information panels. Your colours, branding and recycling information can be incorporated. Design and production terms are included in the quotation.

Exact warranty periods, coverage, delivery schedule and servicing terms are provided in your quotation. They are agreed according to the selected equipment and project scope.

Contact STRAPAS to discuss rental, financing or a pilot project. Availability and commercial terms are confirmed individually after assessing the project scope.

The site address and photos, planned number of stations, waste types, current collection frequency and main problem. If available, include collection costs and your target implementation date.
